It's just a nepotismfest, 99.9% of the population is filtered just because and yet at the same time there's supposed to be super duper ultra mega hyper competition between the participants but how is there even competition when the people given endorsement are so few and in-between? Like, they make a point that Leon had never given endorsements before to show much of a special snowflake you are and why there's so much pressure on Hop.
Tough luck if you aren't the Champion's brother childhood friend neighbor, or a Gym Leader relation, or a useful pawn for Rose, I guess.
And then we get to things like how the circuit there actually has to be done in order, and we're also being told Kabu filters the fuck out of people so how many competitors actually reach the latter four gyms? How many competitors do Raihan even battle in that case? How are they getting real constant practice to keep sharp? How does this promotes growth on trainers unlike all other regions circuits?
And let's not even get into how mememax dependent they are, except for Piers.
Even the whole Gym Challenge only allows ONE person at the Champions Cup at the end of it all. How am I supposed to believe that encourages competition where steel sharpen steels like no other place when the whole system is built of discouraging participation as much as possible?
The whole thing is nothing but a circlejerk, and works in a completely contradictory manner towards it's supposed purpose and effect.
