The fact that Drew and Harley appeared normally in their still-shot cameos was simply out of design familiarity, like how Ritchie apparently hasn't changed clothes in 8 gens; the writers clearly didn't give a shit about how their contest careers are impacted by May's change, just like how we have no indication Ritchie has done literally anything since his appearances in Chronicles.
