It wouldn't be Ritchie's decision, it'd be the ref's the same ref who later in the match declares a sleeping Pokémon "knocked out", meaning he's either's too stupid to understand the concept of extenuating circumstances or is intentionally sabotaging Ash, Meaning he almost certainly wouldn't postponed the fight even if Ash had asked.

The "league stoppers" like Ritchie and Harrison have generally only popped up last minute during the league arc, Tobias included. I can at least appreciate how Alain was built up. He beat E4 members, 10 megas in a row, you knew this guy was strong. The match with Ash you knew could go either way but when Ash did lose you knew his opponent was legit. The loss to Ritchie was much more infuriating cause Ash probably could've beat this guy.

There was a couple of problems last year but let's try it again because I'm bored and it looks like there isn't going to be news or games for awhile.

Basically you make up to 3 wishes for next year regarding Pokémon in the next year and we put them against each other in a tournament bracket. Matches could be decided in any number of ways but you people seem to only care about popularity polls so that will be the default but if you really want a wish in a stalemate to win, you can win play a showdown match or something.

My wishes
Dexit ends forever, legacy support for older gens that let you access unavailable content like events and competively perfect Pokémon, and lastly a movie about a minor character like Ritchie or Miror B. Or team rocket

Back in Kanto I would have said that it was pretty tied to the lead, it wasn't just some nebulous goal that Ash had as Gary knew was it was, Ritchie knew what it was, the league announcer knew what it was, Mesaze Pokemon Master is an in universe song (in the Todd Snap ep) and then referencing the games, Lance calls you one when you beat him

Not really, if the ashnime does anything right it's that it shows that all the other active league participants (Alain, Ritchie, Paul (?well they showed him doing the Battle Frontier), Gary, arguably Tobias) have tons of cool adventures happening to them too because that's what being a professional league battler entails.

Alain's adventures are arguably even more intense than Ash's AND he gets the whole 10 year old Pokegirl too.
