>>54441078I don't mind the infamous Pokemon OC hair tuft. Pokemon allows so little room for intraspecies diversity that I can't blame any artist for doing it. Even the anime was forced to give Ritchie's Pikachu a hair tuft to help it stand out.
Honestly, I love it when an artist takes a species with "hair" like Luxray, Blaziken, or Zoroark, and styles it. I've always found it a cute and clever way to make an OC stand out without going terribly off-model or resorting to adorning them in 5k different accessories.
Pic related isn't a great example, but I thought the Fennekin was decent. The Treecko and Froakie, however, have uncanny, oddly human proportions which make them look way too off-model to me.
