They probably don't even know these threads exist...well they probably do as some very tangential background irrelevant knowledge but it's not something they care about. So nobody is actually offended.
Since English is obviously not their first language I really doubt they partake in the whole Serena VS Misty autism, in fact, they wouldn't even recognize who the hell Misty is, in Japanese her name is "Kasumi".
That and they'd also have to translate all the posts with a Google Translate and you bet nobody from Japan is gonna do that over /padt/ of all places, especially with the 4kids naming conventions.
