The Pokemon Go song was legitimately good, even for Goldfarb and co., whose music is hated by most of the fandom. It truly makes you wonder what they could do, but won't, with the mainline Series.
I think the reason TPCi's dub ended up so terrible at the end of the day, has to do with

The Anime itself lost ratings and viewership with each progressive Series, no matter what fans will tell you, overseas and in Japan (Scott himself once shared the ratings over time) so that in turn likely caused the dubbers to think they can get away with anything by now (unfortunately given their is an endless supply of kids who don't know any better, their theory may be true).
It's sad, but the bright side, perhaps TPC Japan deciding to go the Yu-Gi-Oh/Beyblade etc. generic toyetic Anime route and ditching Ash/Satoshi may be the chance for the Series to start afresh in English with a whole new slate of characters and roster. I do hope they treat it better than they do the mainline Anime, there's a real opportunity to not mess it up and join modern dubbing standards here (whether the Riko/Loy Series for SV will be any good or not, we don't know yet either, but still a chance).
