Serenafags are seething over the last episode and are super angry at the sudden shift in their fandom because a lot of people there are now speculating if SatoKasu will become canon and talking about it positively. Apparently they were angry about Dawn prior to Misty showing up (lol).
I even see some of the exact arguments people are having in the west, such as the Shudo statements, Riko being Ash and Serena's daughter, so on and so forth.

They threw in shipping hints for Chikorita and Misty, but Serena just talked about Fennekin. Second, when they brought Serena back, even her seiyuu interview and character profile didn't mention it all. Of course, the staff isn't going to flat out say it, but damn it take the hint. Pretty sure it was TVTokyo that had an issue with an onscreen kiss in Pokemon. Had TVTokyo not said "no" then the kiss would've been visible. The animators had to get creative and come up with a way to make it clear she kissed him, without actually showing it. If there had been no restrictions, they wouldn't have had to get creative. I don't think anyone knows for sure if TVTokyo would allow an onscreen kiss between Ash/Misty, if that's the direction the anime is going.

If Ash and Serena's last interaction had been the kiss, then I'd kinda get it even though I'd say it's open to debate if they'd ever come together later. Their final (so far) appearance together, though? No indication they are moving toward any sort of romance.

If nothing happens with Misty (or anyone else) and the Ashime ends, then in a way, every ship wins and every ship loses, because nothing will be canon.

Then your post makes no sense. The smart thing to do would be to directly address it in a Serena vs Kasumi episode and leave it open, or to keep baiting pokeshippers while keeping amour open.
The problem with that is tonally it doesn't work with amour. XY took itself seriously, and reducing it to some comedic rivalry with misty would be a worse nod to xy's writing than simply having Serena move on

In other words amour itself will remain unphased, and it will have won unless misty has something concrete like a kiss, especially if smthe escalator scene keeps getting referenced officially on Twitter or whatever as a landmark moment in the series
