But the reason people are reacting this way isn't for no reason and it was always expected. The fact is, Serena's fans were very loud and rude to others for basically her entire existence. They asserted absolute authority over the fandom, every time people would discuss other girls or shipping them with Ash, you had Serenafags rush in and immediately shoot it down with "look at muh XY director's interview! only we are canon forever and ever no matter what happens!", even though this was always foolish when it came to this show since the writers change. Look at Yajima now, he's not in charge for the end so none of that means anything and this was always a circumstance that was liable to happen.
Any time you wanted to discuss anything about this show, Serenafags couldn't help but try and make everything about her. They genuinely could not let this character fucking go and were obnoxious in how much importance they put on her and her ship even when the show had moved on to new seasons that had nothing to do with her.
Personally I don't have any problems with the ship or character but it's obvious why a lot of people are reacting the way they are. Serenafags got way too cocky and wore everyone out with this behaviour over the years. Well before MZM was announced people had already been starting to turn on it for being overhyped and discussed to death.
Now the show is ending, it's very clear that Amour has a 0% chance of happening as things stand now and an Amour ending would be a miracle at this point. So people are mocking Serenafags for being wrong because they spent so many years acting like they won and were being so obnoxious about it being a guaranteed thing that would always happen when the show ended.
