You know who else gets deified for creating an idea but did more harm than good? Gene Roddenberry with Star Trek. A sexist rape pig whose original vision for Star Trek was just diplomatic cables, instead of the western-in-space producers and writers made him push it toward.
Shudo was the opposite of an ideas man. He could write a thoughtful, emotional script but some of his ideas were batshit and unviable. Just look at the evolution of Tomioka episodes and you can see where Shudo's influence began and ended.
