>>58164692Genuinely? It has the potential to be. The battle system looks very refreshing, and the settings really intrigues me. The way Legends: Arceus expanded on Pokémon lore single-handedly made me care for the worldbuilding of this franchise and have faith that Game Freak knows what they're doing. A lot of the "new Sinnoh lore" is talked about (Celestica, the Ginkgo Guild, the clans, etc.), but not many people seem to remember that Legends: Arceus also gives us some Galar lore, some Alolan lore, some Kanto lore... basically it connects Sinnoh/Hisui with almost every other region to some extent, it makes the world feel really alive imo. My only real gripe with Legends: Arceus was the fact that its gameplay got really repetitive after a while, too much "just walk around and catch Pokémon" made the post-game a bit uninteresting for me.
Legends Z-A seems to have a lot more variety in gameplay styles and sidequests, and I think the fact Lumiose is much more condensed is a fantastic game-design choice. Instead of having a lot of places with empty space, it's just a big city with a lot of things to do in every corner. I think when the game comes out, a lot of people's opinions on the "single map that is basically only the size of a PLA area" will shift towards "wow, this is the best location Pokémon has ever made".
Legends Z-A intrigues me so, so much. If Game Freak has been allowed to take their time with this one and polish it up a bit, then this one could definitely be the best Pokémon game so far.
