Johto suffered a LOT due to having Kanto glued as its post-game continuation, no other game should be suffering that fate. to boot Hoenn is already bigger than the two regions put together anyway, why not just have a bigger region as a whole? The only draw to it was Kyurem raids. The only things worth farming were Drilbur (not really), Deino and pvpmons. Larvesta was an egg crapshoot and the only things that were shiny boosted were Deerling and the costume Pikachu. Shinies are at least more common this time around, but not only are most of the Pokémon not Kalos Pokémon, many of them have had community days or shiny boosted raid days. The Matt and Ryan raids are only "good" in the long-term; lvl. 54 Mega Victreebel and Dragonite aren't gonna break any new raid metas in the way Kyurem did, they're just gonna provide an extra tier of candy collection.

I'll also mention L: A was supposed to happen 150 years in the past and utterly separate from the modern era games, it launched as a pair to BDSP and set about 100 years in Sinnoh's past, Johto was meant to be the next Legends game, but they scrapped that idea and pivoted to Galar (still in production by the way), X2 and Y2 has identifiers added to Bank that ultimately went unused and Seed's confirmed MIA despite being due to start development in 2026, because Teraleak happened two years ago and the ENTIRE fucking fanbase assumed because it was in the leak and we saw it, Game Freak were legally obligated to begin development of it for them. Assuming or expecting something, because backend bullshit no-one's truly meant to see and taken out of context (no-one's in the room with the staffer re-compiling the build, much less in-office and in the know enough to know of the entire fucking roadmap for the next 10 years to tell all about) is incredibly retarded.

I only played Heart Gold off a flashcart as a kid. I said fuck it and paid $120 for a HeartGold a couple years ago. I already have multiple of the Gen 3, Gen 4 Sinnoh games, and Gen 5 games, and HG or SS were the last ones I didn't own.

so on average at least 2 out 3 of these has higher odds of standing up, I think the geeko will stand up, only because for the first time since Rowett we have a winged starter so it will either become big bird or it will become another Decideye and stand up despite the wings

That is where you're wrong. In the original starter trio, only Squirtle was made up primarily of circles and ovals. It is also why Squirtle is the worst of the trio, but it is still far, far better than what came later. The other two are cones, a far more complex and realistic shape to built anatomy off. The second generation was even better, with all three having some level of complexity to their designs.

Hoenn was a huge downgrade. Treecko was well-designed, but the other two began the trend of starters being primarily made up of circles and other rounded shapes. This got even worse in Sinnoh, where all three starters were rounded garbage solely made to sell toys. There were slight attempts to correct this in the next few generations that follow, even if garbage like Tepig or Rowlet making it to release.

Game Freak sadly jumped the shark when SWSH released. It ended up being the worst starters yet, with all three being glorified bobbleheads. The franchise has not recovered since that terrible day seven years ago. This batch is just the ultimate conclusion to all of this. Two are little more than singular curves, and the gay lizard is only saved from that fate by lazy noodle arms and a gaudy tail. It almost surprises me that Sobble wasn't the one added to this line-up. It would make a perfect trifecta of shit if it were thrown in here.

By the way, Pikachu is not a circle. It was more of a pear in its original design, with a very complex tail.
