Sadly, this appears to be true.

Not that Bianca and Stephan were bad, but they were nowhere near as good as Paul, or even Barry. (And Trip, of course, was just terrible.)

The series itself was one of the weakest but this is a must see league. Especially after the first one, you really see how much Ash has improved since Kanto and of course the big battle between Ash and Gary.

Like Johto this was a league that brought back Oak'd Pokémon and teamed them up with new ones and the battles we got were fantastic. Ash used smart strategies that were put to the test by other strategic trainers.

Terrible. Despite having enough Pokémon to make each 6 on 6 match Ash only got three battles. A 1 on 1 match (which was the rival battle too), a 3 on 3 match (against Stephan, the only battle in it worth watching) and a 6 on 5 match. The whole thing was obviously rushed so they could get to Episode N, then they rushed it anyway.

All of Sinnoh League's battles were awesome (Barry vs. Paul and Ash vs. Tobias are ok)

Sinnoh's Grand Festival was even miles better than the Unova League. Zoey vs. Nando is pretty cool.

What. Most of the main rivals were written off by the time the third episode of the Unova League aired. Burgundy, Trip, Georgia, and the Cameraman were all written off with all being taken out 2 arcs before the saga was even officially over. Trip lost to Ash's companions and other rivals, lost to Ash in the first match of the League with a Pokemon he swept with in the PWT, Burgundy fucking lost to Trip and got no closure, Georgia lost to Iris even though she should've won and didn't get proper closure. Don't even get me started on Virgil and Cameron. The only well-written rivals were Camera Guy and Stephan, who both were enjoyable if that means anything.

But I have, and it was it's signature. Pikachu would only use it in battles where it was dire, and it was a move exclusive to his line. It wasn't spammed by random COTD's or other Pokemon, it was exclusive to Pikachu.

So Ash telling Cress and Chili good luck on their Gym is deserving of a "your such a kid"?.

But it's not because he's been chasing this goal for years and has shown progress. He could've become a fucking Frontier Brain which is like a Gym Leader and is the current Champion of the Orange League. Unlike Iris, Ash has made progress, a considerable amount.

Iris was given the whole memory-reading shit, some kind of power where she can sooth Dragon-types, she calmed Dragonite and caught it out of fucking no where and didn't actually tame it, Cynthia did. If the anime gets so bad that you can't even watch it anymore, then I'm pretty sure that's a reason why it's terrible.

This alone is the single most wrong thing anyone could say ever. The rivals were the best part of Best Wishes, and all of them were extremely interesting and well done with their own goals. It wasn't just the stock one rival to Ash who he ultimately defeats, blah blah boring. We've seen this shit over and over. I'll give you that for a single rival, Trip would've been pretty ass tier, but what saved Best Wishes was all the other rivals including top tier Stephan.

That Camera kid could've been an interesting character as well but in the end he was written off at the PokeWood episode.

The problem with Best Wishes was, for a main character they had him bow out far too many times in tournaments that hurt his credibility. Most of them were to trainers who hadn't ventured outside of Unova. The first tournament he was written at a massive type disadvantage because the writers for w/e reason had him use Pikachu against Iris' Excadrill. In the second they had him use a weak Pokemon, so he'd bow out to Stephan winning it. The Junior Cup had him lose to Trip who is no more skilled than Paul was, plus was a recently starting trainer and we all know about Cameron and the Unova League. It gave the illusion the writers were far more interested in other characters than him, and they just don't care about writing him anymore.

The writers also never give us any indication what a Pokemon Master is. All we know is that it's something beyond and Champion (who come across invincible in the anime). And given how they handle Ash they make it seem like he'll never actually get there compared to someone like Dawn who almost became a top Coordinator on her first go, or all it taking to be a Dragon Master is, more or less beating Drayden and being a gym leader for Iris.
