And since we have teraleak evidence of Ireland and Irish people existing in Kalos, it wouldn't be THAT much of a stretch to consider more kicking around the world at that time. My sister went to uni in France for a year for fuck's sake and that was in '98, I can only imagine the amount of Irish students and young professionals going there these days.
