>>58534892It is not common to use China as a main set, but it is common to use China as a stage or campaign setting, along with Russia, Egypt, France, Brazil, US, Japan and sometimes Australia, forming the classic around-the-world scenario within a video game.
I don't think we'll get a main game set in China, but perhaps someday TPC will be inspired to make a spinoff with several regions. Obviously, it would only visit very specific locations in different regions and use the opportunity to create regions inspired by other countries, but without going into too much detail. For example, TIKSI, a Silph Co. building based on St. Basil's Cathedral; GUYANA, a Mayan pyramid in the middle of the jungle; INDIA*, a temple with Copperajah statues; and CHINA*, a village next to the Great Wall where they sell medicine made with Parasect spores.
*Obviously, the names would be changed, as happened with America and Unova.
