Obviously this is ragebait on the ragebait website but fuck it I'll bite
First thing you need to realize is that Pokemon's ownership is not nearly as simple as it looks. The actual company that owns the copyright of Pokemon is The Pokemon Company (TPC), and TPC is split three-ways between Nintendo, Game Freak, and Creatures inc. When people say Pokemon is a billion dollar company, its not Game Freak that is, its TPC. But The Pokemon Company aren't the ones making the games, they handle the other forms of Pokemon media, such as the anime and merchandise. We don't know how much Game Freak are worth, but its no where near $100 Billion.
Second thing, Game Freak does not have nearly as many privileges as you may think. Only a little over 200 employees actually work at Game Freak. For reference, Nintendo has over 8,000. Thats not NEARLY enough people to handle the cornerstone of the highest grossing media franchise. Yes they do get other companies to help with the games, such as Creatures handling the 3D models, however the core development team is no where near the numbers of other teams.
Not only that, but theres the obvious fact that Game Freak are not given enough time to actually make these games. The release of the Pokemon games is imperative to the success of the brand, as new Pokemon, for some stupid reason, can ONLY come from Game Freak games. This means that if Game Freak were to extend the release of a title, like what they did with Z-A, then it fucks with the ENTIRE brand. Notice how both the anime and TCG have been stuck using past Mega Evolutions for their promotional material.
ON TOP OF ALL THAT, but also the fact that Game Freak prides itself in "helping young new talent" but what that ACTUALLY means is that, rumor has it, they just shift out developers for every title, leading to overall less coordination and experience amongst the team. I usually defend Game Freak on a lot of shit but Im not gonna defend them on that garbage
