>>57664110>it’s funny 4chan likes to make fun of ESL’s for speaking more than one languageIt's really a multifaceted issue. I've observed over the years that the most likely people to become upset that someone else is "ESL", especially for something as minor as a 1 letter mistake, are often times themselves ESL. I've never understood this, but this is most often the case. True native English speakers don't give a shit that someone is 1 letter away from being correct, and they will only really say something if there are more egregious mistakes, like entire words omitted or massive grammatical and syntax errors, and even then they usually only say "ESL" as a shitpost to attempt to discredit something that upsets them but which they do not actually want to engage with. Anyone who has ever talked to someone via text or via chat programs (AIM, discord, etc) is used to spelling mistakes, and they are mistakes from personally known EOPs too.
Then let's go ahead and just say that the people crying "ESL" are actually native English speakers - doesn't this lack of empathy for the plight of navigating a foreign language betray that they only know one language? Only knowing one language is generally looked down on by anyone non-American, because it shows more ignorance than strength. Shitting on someone for being "ESL" for a 1 letter mistake shows that the person probably has never been to a different country. And if they ever find themselves privileged enough to be in another country for vacation, I hope that they find people who treat them as poorly as they treat people on the internet. I hope they find people who yell at them in a language they can't understand, saying "this is [country], we speak [language] here!" and just being really mean about it.
And the racism - I got banned here once for calling TPC jewish, but people get away with saying that only "bugmen" play meta decks, when *everyone* only plays meta, not just asians. It's absurdly hypocritical.
