and of course it's not like there's any effort put into the villain plot, which is always literally just 'take a possibly cool jrpg villain motivation and just shove it into pokemon with 0 nuance, charm, or proper pacing' and why we got things like lysandre.
the sooner this franchise breaks free of 8 gyms with an evil team slapped on for necessity purposes, the better
