I like him. They definitely could have done more with him, but they communicated his character and arc well enough. Compare him to Tierno, who gets way more screentime but less development and is infinitely less memorable.

I still haven't had the motivation to play through it a second time past the first visit to Lumiose. Same goes for Gen VII and I still haven't even touched VIII. I'll likely be playing Gens I-V and some old spinoffs until the end the way things are going with the series.

I'm talking about crushes and feelings. Drew had a crush on May and tierno/trevor on Serena. Even if Clemont didn't have one he did understand the core concept but it is completely alien to ash and that is my argument. He's Goku levels of dense.

- Gary, if he appears at all it'll probably just be as a researcher but not competing. But he hasn't appeared in the anime in 11 years since 2009 so his chances of returning are probably
small.

- Paul. Logically it'd make sense for him to compete in world championships. But it's been 10 years since DP ended and he hasn't been seen since. His character is pretty much unknown to younger fans.

- Alan. Probably the most likely. He was his own character in his specials even before he became Ash's rival, so I can see him returning

- Tobias or other league rivals. Probably small, since they weren't major characters just roadblocks for Ash to lose to.

- Side rivals like Barry, Tierno, Shota, etc...I guess probably small. They aren't really popular enough to be brought back years after their saga ended and served their purpose.

I always wondered, how do girls like May travel around without being hit on by constant guys? I know Pokemon is a kids show so they keep it really low (besides the kid in the Deoxys movie, he was like what Tierno was to Serena), it's very strange.

With the XY Elite Four, they had two new Pokemon and two old ones, and most of the old ones were ones used by past Dragon specialists. Even the new Pokemon were ones that had been used before, such as Pyroar that was used by Lysandre, and Talonflame that was used by Tierno.

Remember Tierno had a Raichu with the male's pointed tail, but it turned out this Raichu was a female. OLM just uses Sugimori's official artwork for these Pokemon as the base, not really taking subtle gender differences into account.

OLM likely just used Meganium's Sugimori artwork as well, which happens to be a male Meganium, for this Meganium and every other one. For all we know, this Meganium can be female too.
