I mean, Kalos gets a lot of hate for not being as good as Unova. However, most people forget these were the first 3D games compared to the many 2D games (RBGY, GSC, RSE, FRLG, DPPt, HGSS, BW, BW2), yet they still added a lot of cool stuff:
>Trainer customization>Riding Pokemon>Pokemon Amie>3D models with animations for attacks, damage, fainting, and interacting>Mega Evolution>PSS>Super Training and finally being able to see EVs in-game>Horde Battles, kept Triples and Rotation>Made BP way easier to obtain>Biggest National Pokedex out thereI mean, if Mega Evolution went introduced at a later point in the games and the rivals had more to offer (Tierno being a Move Tutor, Trevor offering Pokedex rewards, Shauna being a Contests Rival), XY would have been fine.
On the other hand, if some of what
>>37399515 mentioned were introduced as either DLC or a third version as well as a difficulty selection, and a bit of Southern Kalos went explorable, it would have been a pretty amazing gen desu.
