The show reminds you over and over again that his battle skills are mediocre at best (can't beat Hoji, Kiawe, or Tokio) and that he usually can't make a dent in any legendaries (did horribly against Moltres, Mewtwo, and Articuno, only did well against Zapdos due to it being fatigued).
You're just aggro because you view any other (male) character's success as being a threat to your precious Ash and it's absolutely pa-the-tic.
