>>58128552This has always been a rich people's hobby because of how much traveling is done. Poorfags can't qualify for shit when they've got to travel to eight regionals to be able to make it to worlds. And then there's the worlds trip, too.
There's not a single player on these events that's made it out green. You do this for the hobby's sake, for the e-peen, not to make money. For the experience, to hang out with people, etc.
The only people who make money out of this are the ones who've been able to turn it into a long-term career, be it a Poketuber, like Wolfe, or actually getting hired within TPC like the NB people or other oldfags like Cybertron.
