The only two trainers worth shit there are Ash and Alain, and Ash fundamentally did no better than he did in Sinnoh and Hoenn.

Alain's over-levelled Charizard beat Malva's Houndoom, sure, but her Base Houndoom would trash Base Charizard due to Flash Fire, none of Alain's other pokemon are even close to his Charizard and Alain's Charizard wasn't even fucking damaged by Ash's Greninja in the league match.
