>John Hanke gave a speech at our small college last night. It's in a small town of about 8500 people, the hall he spoke in holds about 350 people and it was packed.
>One girl was in the front row with her hand raised during Q&A, and asked for a picture, but Hanke ignored her and then has security take her away while saying "Go home to daddy, your daddy didn't love you enough, beg daddy for some love," ect..
>Hanke wasn't aware that the 22yr old girl he was saying this too, her dad had died a couple years ago from a heart attack. The whole school, no doubt, is buzzing today with how big of douche bag John Hanke is.
>Amongst many already deleted comments from the school's facebook page: "just got home from the JH speech, and I gotta tell you man, I'm disappointed. I don't know if he has ever spoken to a small school in a small town before, but let me bring a couple of things to your attention: We don't get big guests here. And by that I don't mean we don't get Mark Zuckerberg, Neil Degrasse Tyson, or those typical TED talk guys. By that I mean he was literally the most famous speaker to ever come here. Ever. I can understand why he got upset about people taking pictures, it's probably irritating for you to be speaking, then look down and see people paying attention to their camera phones instead of listening to your words. But do you know why they're so concerned about taking pictures? Because this might have been the biggest/first/only famous Silicon Valley person they've gotten or will ever get to meet. This is going to be something people talk about with their friends for a long time. And I'm going to tell you right now, they're not speaking positively about it. Tonight he got 350 people out of a town of 8,500 to come see him. Everyone there paid good money to come see him and enjoy the evening, not to be chastised and have the Q&A cut short.
