It would be too long of a list to redo all the teams but ill give one per each region.
Kanto + OI: A scyther that Ash would have saved from Celadon game corner
Johto: Houndour he helped out
Hoenn: the Absol that was stalking him in the region
Sinnoh: Luxio he helped in the Wailmer episode
Unova: Fem Frilish he fished up in the fishing episode
Kalos: Im surprised they never gave him an Aegislash despite its massive popularity.
Alola: the Wimpod he saved when him and Pikachu were exploring Exeggutor island
Journey: Zacian (or Corviknight if legends are still banned)

B2W2's big drawing point were "old Pokemon are back!!!" Unova shouldn't even have a Water specialist because the Water types in Unova barely fill out a Team. Unova is the ONLY region where Water isn't really a mandatory type either so making the last Gym Leader Water feels like they didn't know what to do for the end game, especially since this is the guy that follows up Ghetsis' crashout

I feel like sinnoh would be the best bet given the enemy is actually evil, but kalos could work too, maybe unova if I were to lean into commercialism vs power of friendship but I never played black and white 1 or 2, I could never get by all the forced intro talking.

sinnoh was truly the pinnacle of series
it has the richest lore, intense plot, great development of characters (dawn starts off as rookie and ends up runner up at the grand festival, brock realizes he wants to be a doctor, ash faces the best rival in the series)
