They contracted TAJ Productions back when they went by Pokemon USA (PUSA), the studio that helped 4Kids themselves dub the Series from EP001 to EP265 or so before 4Kids began recording their dub in-house with the same staff, who recast the dub top to bottom to go lower budget at the time. That dub is Seasons 9-10, basically.
Then, TAJ died out like 4Kids, and the dub rights were handed to DuArt from mid DP to the end of XY. After XY, DuArt lost the rights and the dub moved to LA's Iluno Group, the Seasons 11-19 dub.
Seasons 20-23 dubbed are done by TPCi via that studio, they are more music replace happy than 4Kids, TAJ, or DuArt ever were and like 4Kids + later DuArt, they enjoy censorship/visual changes too apparently.
And that is a full History basically of how Pokemon basically went across countless studios over 25 years.
The dub most people actually liked is done during Seasons 1-8, under 4Kids & TAJ Productions, basically pre-recast/purge.
>>53418187Not at all those Anons, but the guy isn't wrong Ash/Satoshi is even voiced by a woman in Japanese for 25 years- Rica Matsumoto is his definitive actress, much as Veronica Taylor is considered (for good reason) his best English dub voice actress.
If they AGED him up, then a male voice would've fit, but they keep him 10 eternally.
