Honestly, I think it’s for the best if they dial down the whole amour thing if Serena returns, and that’s coming from an XYfag. It doesn’t really fit the tone of the series if they actually continue their relationship from the kiss onwards. Like, in what direction would they even go? Ash isn’t exactly a romantic(predisposition for love of 0), and they SURE as hell aren’t making Serena a permanent character, so there isn’t really a way to make a genuine romantic relationship work. The best way I can see it going is Ash not realizing what a kiss actually means, and he just continues on obliviously. If they do that, they can still do the shippy stuff without hard committing to anything.
