It's as fake a family as you could possibly find, and awkwardly forcing Kukui as Ash's "dad" in the region when he's a career-focused bachelor, causing him to lose to a bullshit overpowered team Ash didn't train. SM is the ultimate cringe. It is getting ridiculous praise just attempting sentimentality. It is like Ash flunking out of 4 year university after 4 year university until finally graduating a 2 year community college. Congrats, he's a college graduate. He can get a good job now. But the challenge was not the same, he didn't work as hard or is as deserving as those who struggled through 4 year and got saddled with debt.
He is also cucked, can't use Z-Moves anymore, none of his OP Pokemon are going to be seen again, it's just as bad as Kalos, despite months of shitposting that Kalos is non-canon because Ash only brought home Hawlucha, Noivern and Talonflame. Well guess what? Pikachu is getting reset AGAIN, getting his shit kicked in by Scorbunny, so even if apologize that the series isn't a hard reboot, it's a goddamn reset either way.
