I'm starting to notice that XYfags seem to have a gatekeeping attitude. They don't like SM because SM's fanbase has a lot of newbies who either started with XY or never watched it. On the other hand, XYfags would prefer the fanbase to be composed of the old guard, who aren't normies and who are dedicated to the series. Notice how XYfags are generally dismissive of post-XY seasons whereas SMfags tend to be calm and chill and don't fight with fans of other generations unless they're shippers. That's because SMfags tend to be newer fans who don't really care much about the past, whereas XYfags seem to be oldfags who were veterans of gen wars throughout the years.
