SMfags screech this term at everyone that says anything vagely not-100%-positive about SM, regardless of whether they mentioned XY or not.
There's never been any "war between fans of XY and fans of SM", it's just SMfags that assume that since they hate everything that isn't SM, everyone else ALSO hate every other series but one specific one. Nobody but SMfags act like you can only like one series and must identify yourself as such.
