Back when XY was airing, pretty much every animefag liked both XY and DP (and to a lesser extent AG and Kanto). Nobody were going on about XYfags this and DPfags that - it was all just "animefags". It was when SM started and people started talking about SMfags that this bizarre insistence that everyone had to be defined as a fan of one specific season started.

I stopped around a few months into SM. Repeatedly making the same points gets boring quick.
I think it's just a few autistic vocal minorities building up shit. I'm seeing more anti-XYfag posts than actual XYfags anyways.
I'm liking what I'm seeing from the new series, and can definitely see myself watching it weekly like XY if they just tone down the comedy a bit and don't make it forced.
People should just let go. It's a fucking kid's show.

And this is why /padt/ gets labeled as a den full of XYfags. I didn't even mention XY in my post. I want Ash to keep his title so that he can challenge other champions and the Elite Four in competitive battles rather than collecting gym badges. A series in which Ash has to legitimize his title by battling other top-tier trainers is a better concept than another badge quest.
