XYfags think that because the arc with Serena had her constantly gushing over Ash both out loud and in her inner monologue in true shounenshit fashion where they beat the media-illiterate child audience over the head with every plot beat. They have no idea what shipping hints and moments were like in Pokémon before that, since the OS and I'm pretty sure later seasons before XYZ rarely or never voiced the characters' inner thoughts.

No. I dropped out because the moment I saw Ash lost to 'BUY HOENN' I could see what was coming. And I was right. What I was wrong about was thinking they could do it indefinitely- but damn did they try until the fanbase got fed up with it.
