Animation ≠ artstyle, retards. JN's finale looks better than anything from XY, especially as far as Ash's design goes. They made him look cool, dynamic, and he looks like a modern Sugimori design. His eye shape is incredible and suits his design perfectly. XY on the other hand is fluent and has amazing gestures, but Ash's design is incredibly dated, even at the time. The Toriyama influenced eyes, head shape, and expressions feel completely mismatched with what Pokemon looks like now, it makes Ash look like a fucking corpse.
