Everything was fine until the XYfags and SMfags decided to kick-start a civil war and rope every other facet of the anime watching community into it.

The a very subjective opinion. I remember liking it a lot because the XYfags were hyping the fuck out of it and "IKU-ZE!". But when SM came out and all the XYfags threw a manbaby shitfit over it I went back to rewatch XY more objectively and... it sucks.

Thats possible, but it didnt happen. Im not sure why you tried to move the point from charizard technically not getting KOd from Groudon. I'm not a fan of XY, however, i'm not going to make up shit like XYfags to make a point. Charizard essentially got 1 shot (it was out of commision) but it technically didn't, because it didnt faint. When Leon and Siebold hit Charizard with dragon pulse, it was down and couldnt move (obviously it lost its mega form), this didnt happen with Groudon (and it should have).

This is why unbiased people aren't outraged. Could the battle have been longer? Yes, however, narratively the battle was proper and a longer battle would've just been MCX getting shit on longer. XYfags and Alainfags are mad because they view Alain as some God (undeservingly so as his feats aren't that impressive for a "God tier trainer" and he isn't even champion level).

No, it was the majority who thought it was bad (except people who are still big hype for the tournament, the opening carried the whole episode for them and the battle was just a foregone conclusion they didn't care about, and a few who genuinely thought the whole episode was coo, but they ironically tended to be people who liked Alain). majority of people who mentioned XY or Alain outside of that were people like you in the XY fan club still using everything as an outlet for XY. People in JN fanbase generally just weren't impressed. If I had to aggregate reactions? 40%.
