While the Manola Conference got the most amount of episodes compared to past series, it also had the most downsides on a personal level.
Not to say the Cast was boring mind you, but the over half of the 16 felt just, aside from some comic relief note just there to highlight Ash's rise to Champion status instead of his total struggle to becoming one, seeing how his 1st and 2nd Match are highlighted by a joke instead of a Match. Trainers like Guzma and Ilima, who have been shown to hold experience, are valid and were kino than over half of the fully shown matches, save Kiawe.
Ash vs Hau started off good and showed how it was good by the dynamic of the battling pokemon, but gets absolutely shafted by the point of Rowlet falling asleep. Never ever have my enjoyment got thrown so abruptly out the window.
Only decent departments was the rivalry between Kiawe and Gladion over the excitement of fighting Ash and the Build-up of Guzma's Method pushing through.
After everything of this and something more, we are at the finals(Which gets cut down to half mind you), and since the final clash was started on a clean plate, let's skip to that Dusk vs Midnight since everything else about that Match was great.
It was:
>From move execution the fucking same as the Lizard vs Frog climax. (Replace DRAGUN CLAW with STHONE EDGE)>Gladion just standing there.>That cringe Laughter in between the final minutes of the match.I save myself from starting the Counter vs Counter thing, since that's another topic.
Even before that, Viewership on Vids of the Final Match Episode and afters spiked on Youtube and Twitch WHEN A LEAK OF ASH HOLDING THE VICTORY TROPHY WAS DROPPED!!! Oldfags, Butthurt XYfags, Serious-Ashfags flocked back in to see it, to see how the tone of the series plus the biggest variety of amateurs and veterans was putting a D- on the moment that was most wanted for over 20 years, only to be a toned down and nerfed version of the moment to be canon.
