I believe this must have been Yajima interfering behind the scenes this episode because was unbelievably kino. well the last few minutes were, in AltoMare. That was great. The main episode itself was usual filler nonsense.
But that last minute...that was something else
And we got to see Latias non-deformed by the JN artstyle, instead, her look got upgraded to XY standards - yep, it's definitely Yajima pulling the strings here

I kinda appreciated the detail that they showed Latias in her human form (as in, she doesn't want to acknowledge her Pokemon identity.)
