Honestly everything about BW series could easily be solved if Ash gone back to being a competent trainer that defeated Trip before the league and only loses to a competent trainer on the league. But the writers were so narcissistic that they could not accept their writing to be wrong and instead took even more dumber decision to shove it on people throat.
