Same for Yajima's interview. And both words are stupid, considering how despite a VA like Rica knows her character or Yajima, who was in charge of the episode as well as the green-lighted interviews, can't say shit that won't be delivered.

Aside from Kukui's wedding, they backed off from Romance like a 5-year old to green veggies.

If you consider XY the “dark age” (when it was the series that had enough interest for /padt/ to be founded) then blame Tomiyasu too, he also did episodes of XY. Yajima and Tomiyasu hate is so fucking retarded. XY was definitely not the dark age too.

it seems that there are 2 factions inside the pokemon anime team
first off yajima was a rouge director who definitely went against a lot of previously established lore and information we can see this in how isolated xy is within the anime series they never stepped out of bounds when it came to anything outside of kalos

in all fairness xy's story is pretty fanfic tier I don't blame him for wanting to get rid of it. serena is a shallow character and is yajimas personal pet, having such a bad character have romance for the MC would make anyone who has taken any writing classes mad she was not a good character especially when there are better options for romance for ash.
AG was fanfiction at its worst no connection to any previously established lore in the series (that was not written in xy) so it makes sense for him to have AG retconned into the aura, something that is mentioned in many past series.
another thing I wanted to add is that he did do the serenas showcases eps and her return had absolutely terrible animation some of the worst in the series so far I'm thinking that this was him getting back at whatever or whoever made him do her eps in xy. getting rid of the crush shitting on her return in story, animation, and getting rid of any other reason for her to return is pretty big. this guy was out for blood and he got it.

make me think that there is more to 2 factions copy pasta than i original though

He talked about the difficulty of getting it to air, but he basically said he wanted to do right by her character. Tomiyasu probably has as much control over XY as Yajima did, if he wanted to do something, I'm sure he could do it(with reason of course)

Unironically yes? It doesn't have to be in one day or something, but he can do that. Yajima showed how much control a director could have with the Serena finale episode for example and Tomiyasu himself will storyboard for SM episodes.

Of course, they're completely different characters with different personalities and motivations. I really don't think there's anything they have in common outside of their appearance and even then that's just for ashnime Serena's initial design (which is an altered version of game Serena to begin with). They've changed her so much with redesigns after that they don't resemble each other in any significant way at all.
I basically view ashnime Serena as Yajima making a pre-planned OC but using the gen 6 protag as a base rather than adapting the game character for the anime.
