yeah, and in a way Ash losing in XY was because of those chuuni executives. Ash was going to win it, the writers designed it so he would win and even Yajima wanted him to win, but the chuuni executive jumped in and quickly told them he has to lose so his self insert can keep going on adventures. thanks to that SM was watered down and i don't even need to mention how badly Galar was treated like they didn't even do the gym challenges at all and half the characters didn't even get represented

Say what you want about this but it's literally a fact that never been debunked. Even Rica hates XY Ash direction and sighed a relief when SM brought back his character.

And I'm not particularly an HZ anti, I'm pretty much neutral with it. It pulled the more serious schtick better than XY. The only downside is perhaps some of character's partial writing but it can be rectified latter and Yajima's episodes being awfully ugly to watch.
