>>58047444You misunderstand what Primal Kyogre/Groudon are. They're ancient beasts who wake up periodically to make sure earth and sea are in balance. If not, they'll fix the imbalance then go back to sleep. Normally they're helpful creatures.
What happened in Hoenn 1000-ish years ago is that they both happened to wake up at the same time and decided to kill each other, leading to a near-apocalyptic event. Mega Rayquaza showed up and beat the shit out of both, which exhausted them so much that they shriveled up into the "normal" versions we see today (the energy they need to return to normal dried up thousands of years ago, so they're just kinda stuck like that now). The Red/Blue orbs have enough ancient power stored to temporarily let them regain their form.
Now, the big problem in ORAS is that they have another function: If they're awoken outside of their periodic wake-up time, they'll "return the world to the alpha/cause the omega". Archie/Maxie misunderstood what this meant and assumed it meant "will turn back civilization's progress to simpler times" or "will advance civilization into the future", instead of the more obvious "wipe everything out" meaning. That's why they were going crazy in ORAS and trying to destroy everything. It's not something they normally do.
