It's pretty funny how the Advanceshipping meter goes from basically 0 in most episodes, to maybe a 5 in the handful of episodes that choose to tease it, back to 0, to an 11 in M09, before falling back to earth afterward in the main show. M08 also has shippy elements, but they're mostly read into the movie by shippers because of the setting and the fancy clothes, whereas the ship-teasing in M09 is as unsubtle as the writers could get away with, so you're blind if you pretend it's not there intentionally. I guess one could claim the split-ribbon motif in AG192, and its reappearance in DP, counts as a final ship-tease, but it's not much from what I remember, since the show May is pretty overtly directed toward Drew by that point.
