May and Ash are bickering with each other until they meet a couple who challenges them to a double battle. Because of their bickering May and Ash lose the battle with ease and thus they end up more mad at each other. The same couple later on challenges TR and TR loses, resulting in James and Jessie being mad at each other too. When TR meets the gang, Jessie proposes a boys vs girls double battle, but Jessie ends up cheating and TR reconcile mid-battle by stealing pikachu, which ends with Ash and May finally battling TR as a proper duo and reconciling / acknowledging each other.
I believe this is the episode where the prince/princess couple mention advanceshipping? In the sub there's no ship-teasing, so I suppose that was dub shenanigans again.
