>>58625343In the anime (which they'll likely be using as source material), Duel Monsters are actually real spirit beings with immense power. The cards are weaker versions of them bar the God Cards (which yugi has all of by the way, and when combined gain infinite attack and defense in said anime) which contain the actual power of those gods. In ancient egypt, Exodia was a powerful monster, one of if not the most powerful, who existed to fight a great evil but was more of a rampaging berserker than anything, hence why he was chained and split into five parts.
Also, lol, yugiboomers so far behind they don't realize Yugi used Exodia one time in his first real duel in the anime, and then lost it for the rest of the series. Atem - the pharaoh - uses Dark Magician and the Egyptian Gods along with mythical beast monsters. Yugi - the actual guy - uses Silent Magician and Gadget cards. So it depends - will they conflate Atem with Yugi since Atem is dueling 90% of the series? If so, Ash gets curbstomped by the gods. Will they mix their decks? Then Yugi and Atem still win. Will it just be Yugi motou's deck? Then Ash could reasonably pull a win because yugi's deck is kinda shit.
>>58625352>I don't understand this battle, it's too one-sided. It would have made more sense if it was Ash vs Genki.Because it was voted for during their kickstarter probably. It's no different than Red vs Taichi from Digimon, the power level is just too different. Pokemon even within its own verse is generally low power for a battle anime. Digimon regularly fight or are world-ending if not multiverse-ending threats, Yugioh literally has actual godly beings and real dark magic, I'm sure Monster Rancher probably has some flavor of its own bullshit that mogs pokemon, pokemon are just relatively weak.
