First gym down, Pearl is officially underway! I was looking around the early routes to see what I could get with Pokeradar or GBA insert and saw that Lake Verity had level 4 Lunatone and Solrock as options, "surely that can't be the case", sure enough it was. Otherwise it's the standard Sinnoh opening; starter gets super effective move, solos the gym, baddabing baddaboom.
>>58057976Speaking for myself at least, I enjoy the fact that there are stakes in a nuzlocke. In a regular run you can just turn your brain off and if you lose a mon it's just "oh oopsie doopsie, better use my stack of 500 revives", deaths being permanent means you actually have to be more active and even plan and strategize ahead of time to mitigate risks. Most strategy in regular games is pointless cuz it's just "click move and win, potion up if you meet resistance", I like getting the excuse to come up with a battle plan, which is also why I love other challenge runs where brute force simply won't cut it like low BST/unevolved only/shitmon solorun
>>58053833>Congrats! Shame about Honchkrow, especially since it's pretty rare. You could at least get lucky with the safari zone at least. Thanks, and true, there's also XY and the Alola games, although that's less likely again, either way it's definitely not a mon I'd be sad about reusing
