>Review>The goodMy thoughts on Rocket Edition are overall fairly positive, the game's retold Kanto is done mostly pretty well and due to your starting location things feel a lot fresher, the story has it's problems but it is charming and the buildup to the game's mystery is pretty interesting, I won't go over much of the story but it is well told. The quests are fairly interesting with them often branching a bit, but there's barely any of 'em to begin with. The game is good simple fun.

The infamy mechanic is really poorly designed, especially if you go full nignog on a massive stealing spree, the rewards you get for high infamy are garbage, there's one whole quest that I found involving infamy in Viridian and it requires way too much of it, the rewards for keeping clean are really good, but the game for whatever reason wouldn't let me access them for ages despite my record being clean, so I essentially ended up with a lot of sub-optimal sets for my mons, going back to legendaries, several Pokemon are straight up unobtainable due to the powerplant and the foam islands being locked, that and other Pokemon like Lapras and Snorlax are straight up locked to essentially postgame hell, this game also constantly brings up Johto mons but the only ones you get throughout the game before Ariana are just the evolutions to gen 1 mons, no gen 3 either despite them hinting at it with Steven and such, Kanto's dex has a lot of shitters and due to trainers carrying very repetitive teams of the same Pokemon, stealing becomes less appealing, which kinda sucks since it's the game's main mechanic, I assume the starters are not available due to the same reason, which is to make sure players use a different team from the usual ones, the problem is by doing so you-
