>>55210474>Is it because of ALL of these reasons?Yes, we know that SV are very weird in some aspects and has some design decisions that are the opposite of optimization-friendly
But also, yeah, most people seems to not realize the giant leep we took from the previous main games to these ones. The size of the explorable world, the overworld pokemon and overworld battles. It's still their first game like that.
Remember we come from games with 'routes' that are 20m long linear paths and 'cities' that are largely decoration with barely anything in them and random encounters with battles taking place in a separate small arena screen.
When you explore the world in SV the game has to constantly generate lots of pokemon, all with their stats and particularities, gender, size, abilities, skills, forms, shiny or not, behavior in the open world, etc.
I really don't think they should keep going that way. I'd prefer a third person open world adventure game with real environments with a few Pokémon in your vicinity at any given time and not a kind of singleplayer MMO with a camera that is further back where everything is build around you running in circles in vast empty fields for hours with 20 identical pokemon constantly respawning at your feet.
