After a boss battle against the rogue Deoxys, Rayquaza descends from the skies and finishes it off, recasing it as a meteorite and blasting it far off into space. The true final boss however is Mr. Stone, who doesn’t want you to use the Wishmaker for your own wish and challenges you to a trainer battle over it. To your surprise, he’s actually in control of both primal Groudon, and Kyogre, and he’s been trying to conspire to turn all of the ancient tribes against each other, though at this point the legends have already destroyed Meteor Village, which was growing suspicious of Stone.
Ancestors to classic characters in this game include the obviously stated ones, Maxie, Archie, Alder, Sophocles, Diantha, Petrel, Lenora, Wattson, Wallace, Juan, Winona, and Flannery to name the more memorable/recognizable ones. Emmet and Lance from the present timeline are in the game like Ingo in the previous game, except it’s not clear whether or not the protagonist is also a traveler this time.
The world is more primitive than Arceus and has an Ancient Greek theme, though trainer battles are more common in Arashi and the pokeballs used by them are different both in appearance and in origin to the early Pokeballs in Arceus.
The Regis receive Primal Forms and are the focus of the postgame.
Rock/Fire, Steel/Fighting, Ice/Fairy, Electric/Flying, Dragon/Dark, and Regigigas is Normal/Ground. These forms are treated like regional variants unlike the mega status of other primals. Jirachi also receives its Fortune Form, where it becomes red and gold, with flowing glowing ribbons marked with ancient text, a true star body, and closed eyes while its third eye is open.
No other new legendary forms or members, only other variants are: Gallade, Blitzle, Spritzee, Swirlix, Onix, Dratini, Magmar, Electabuzz, Alomomola, and Poliwag. About half of those get new evolutions.
Both new games will both be shown next month. To prove myself, Sunday’s announcement is about Hisui x Paldea.
