Last time, the party was fighting an ambush in the room before the vaults. Geese was down, but Rosaline managed to drain enough energy to recover from the secretive sediment damage, and took out two of the mooks attacking her. Alex's counter parried the enemy attacks, but did little else since counter only works against moves that hit. Blaziken slammed one of the enemy commanders, knocking them out. The remaining commander ordered everyone to concentrate their attacks, focusing on Rosaline for now, and laid down cover fire of his own over the general party.

Their combined force pulled the doors apart and back into the walls, revealing the scene within. It appeared to be the cafeteria, and it was suitably immense and grandiose for a food-based cult. The infected creatures were fighting a winning battle against an organized group of men and women in white, along with their Pokemon. Tables rooted to the floor were being used for cover, while those that could be moved were being thrown by a pair of Machoke at the mutant creatures. To their right they could see the entire wall of the room torn open. The lights at the edge had gone out, and beyond the hole was darkness, but more infected Pokemon were crawling in from wherever it led.

Above was a second floor to the cafeteria, with a separate entrance to the kitchens and more tables. A group of ranged combatants were helping fight the monsters below, and among them was a Magcargo tossing gouts of flame and blobs of magma into the enemy crowd. One of the Breadit grunts looked over and saw Rob as the door opened, assuming there were more monsters coming through. He tossed a grenade at the doorway.

A parking lot near the harbor cracked apart as the ground burst open, a platform rising out of it. The huge turret atop the platform armed itself, its targeting lasers and scanners beginning to lock onto the approaching hovercraft.

There was always the brief travel montage.

Considering they slaughtered everything, the way back outside was clear. The large double doors of the dome were already hanging partially open, and a small scorch mark was sitting in the opening.

The missiles slammed into several of the of the robots, causing them to crash into the ground, another damaged a platform causing it to explode releasing it's cargo of pokeballs.

And with that the first of the pokemon were sent out. Behind the walls waited the accurately dubbed 'Artillery' section under the command of Richard. Each of squad two sent out an Ampharos, while squad five sent out a group of Porygon-Z.

Several Politoed were sent out to begin dancing and forcing down rain on the area.

The various attacks hit the first wave of robots, disabling and destroying several even as the remaining moved up to position.
The rain quickly got a response from one of the armored platforms however a series of mortar like shells flying into the air one releasing it's pokeball, a strange looking Hippowdon slamming down in front of the wall with very loud thump. The thing releasing a series of small rocks into the air as it settled, the rain storm suddenly dissipating into a blast of Sand that began billowing off the shoreline.
Two more shells were fired as well from the second platform, revealing a pair of claydol who landed in front of each platform, one throwing out a barrier and screen respectively.
The first wave of Golems neared the wall as well, hands out to began their attempt to break through.

The big qualm with his decision was whoever he sent out wouldn't be joining him up in space... unless... He had a plan. "OK. Leave it to me!" With the rain gone most of the Thunder Based attacks went wild, several making grazing shots at them one slamming into the walls of the city before exploding, another seeming to seize up from the stunning, the bombardmant also left several holes as well
The first Golem Robots reached out and attempted to grab at several of the wall pokemon with their hands to crush or toss them away while others merely tried to ram their way through.

The Claydol took the attack hard, hanging in there enough to toss up the opposite screen over their respective vehicles which soon got into position behind the guarding Robots, their cannons firing another 3 pokeballs into the air Releasing A Durant, a heatmor, and Beeheyem, the first attempting to ram the Garchomp head on while the second fired a blast of psychic energy at the Infernape. The last merely landed and zoned out a second.

The series of spread attacks went wild, some still managing to impact the giant hulking forms one crashing down against the wall before exploding violently the others taking grazing hits and stumbling back a bit before opening fire again a couple taking damages against their arms cutting their strength while others merely seemed to shrug on. From behind the cannons fired again, tossing 3 more pokemon into the fray, a Exadrill, a Sawk, and a Toxicroak which landed atop the walls and gate area swinging. The cannons lowed down again afterwards apparently reloading.

The Claydol both now critically injured attempted to retreat from the fight, one recovering while the other tossed out a protect to block the next strike.
The Hippo pokemon once again tried to EQ the wall down by now almost completely fainted.
The new fighting types had yet to land on the ground yet but several braced themselves to survive.

The Golems that went through the breach didn't last more than a few seconds, their systems overloaded from the close in attacks, some falling backwards into the others before crashing down and self destructing, the hyper beams tore into even more of them, cutting the numbers yet again even as they pressed on, the electric ones, having endured the worst of the damage, laying down a suppressive field of electric fire towards the defenders, two of them freezing up from the ice strikes before they could even respond. The one free one attempted to hit the runway from a distance with it's own blast despite the damage.

The one holding the Hydreigon was forced to rear back and topple over the wall, exploding as it hit the ground sending dirt everywhere

The power whips and close in attacks were less effective but combined with the artillery strikes most of the close in Golems were wiped out, most exploding or crashing against the wall in flames

On the ground the Steel and and Sand Hippo were brought down harshly in the earthquakes, the Anteater joining it as well just as the next group landed, 2 of them taking heavy damage as well.

The series of glancing hits and near misses caused the numbers to go down simply from the sheer amount of power brought against them, another 2 Robots going down or disabled while a third was soon crippled. But still they pressed on the cracked armor of some of the other golems by now sparking with energy from the damage being inflicted upon them Even as they rushed once more.

The Wall's breach however brought forth another threat, the disabled Platforms unloading their cargo of pokeballs to either side, which released another swarm of pokemon like attackers from bulked up Krookodiles to fighting types to the well armored Escavalier in the rear. The Dark Gators rushed ahead first, several scraping their claws across the ground as they closed in while others charged as well the Darmantian going full speed at the largest group while cloaked in flames.

The attacks brought down most of the intial force as well as another wave of the robots, the things ramming into the wall before exploding, the few remaining ones now lined up direcly against the sides of the building, firing onto and over the walls into the city proper. The back up group reached the walls quickly, some jumping up the walls, using the barrier to shield themselves from the attacks as they attempted to climb up even as others simply tried to ram their way through. From behind the cannons fired again over the wall all the platforms joining in now. Sending several pokeballs flying onto and over the wall, unleashing even more upon them, the enemy constantly adapting to the changing targets apparently. The platforms themselves seemed to deploy themselves accordingly, just outside range of most attacks but within enough for them to fire. Several pokemon standing guard around them for protection.

Richard grunted in pain as he was lifted off his Lapras and fired several point blank shots into the enemy. []

Many of the pokemon were hurt, and several were withdrawn almost as soon as they entered the field.

They were in luck that the swarm of close range attacks were enough to almost wipe out everything inside the walls, as well as the majority of the Robots, the one holding Richard quickly going through both it's AI core and it's power source causing it to tumble off the wall and explode, taking out the one next to it.

The series of strikes also leveled the ones inside, only one of the electric types, the one wall hugging scrafty, one which barely took Flash cannon attack before responding with a desperate Brick Break and one of the Protected Escavalier holding on before responding with a gyro Ball at the Porygon-Z. Further Back the Platforms fired again unleashing another group of pokeballs which landed and unleashed a group of Skuntank, who began to crush the ground under an earthquake.

He jumped on his own Hydreigon and watched over the retreat from the air as all the grunts returned their pokemon and began to process of getting the hell out.

Richard, meanwhile, was making a call on the general channel.

Richard: "We've been overrun. Requesting strike on the wall breach. Authorization code 2268374."

With that short message he replaced his radio and moved towards the department store to set back up and keep firing.

That was it, then. With only the Togekiss and Gardevoir on Mike's backup team still in the fight, it was time to retreat. A full charge for teleportation had been built up, though a few moments would be needed to gather the fallen team together. Having finished that, the group of seven was warped to the relative safety of Lavender Town. Overall, the ground defense had been a crushing defeat... but worse, it meant they would be unable to provide backup in space.
