Does anyone find it hard to play generation 1 and 2 games? It's like I want to play them again for nostalgic purposes, but once I do, I find it hard to get hooked in again.

Every year or so, I actually break out my Pokemon Silver. My girlfriend picks who's on my team, and I playthrough.

Something about GSC still has it's charm, though it leaves me wanting more, and that's when I play Soul Silver

I still love them because of nostalgia. I'm actually playing through red right now. It's really weird playing such a stripped down version of pokemon though. I really think that the first games were the only ones that were ever actually hard though.

Gen 2 is very playable.

I personally can no longer play any pokemon games anymore cause the gameplay is fucking terrible. I just stick to Pokemon Showdown.

I find the grinding to level 100 in GSC to be unbearable. It really long time especially since the Elite 4 don't get buffed up Pokémon after their initial defeat. But one day I swear to myself I shall enter my Pokémon in the Prime Cup!

Pokemon's interface and design has gotten slicker and smoother each gen (with the possible exception of 4, but made up for with HG/SS) Going back now just seems pointless, especially with the remakes.

Gen 1 and 2 are a fucking SLOG now. It's amazing to think I put up with this shit for hundreds of hours as a kid...

Hoenn for me. I had a pretty shit team, but it was still pretty tough.

I didn't like GB Sounds because it wasn't faithful enough to the original tracks. It was like listening to inaccurate renditions of them.

What? The only inaccurate thing is that when you use an attack, some of the music channels don't stop working because they need them for the attack's sound. Other than that, they're really faithful to the originals.

I find it easiest to play Gen 3 because everything is much quicker, and it's hardest to play Gen 1. Even Yellow, which I use to love. So I stick to Yellow hacks, and those won't be good until ROM Hackers figure out following Pokemon in the third generation.

Try listening to the actual tracks from the original Gold and Silver on a DS. I already did with my flashcart. They come up as incomplete and shitty. And yes, the tracks are not modified.
