Target is having a sale for a week starting on 3/24.

I plan on getting the Pikachu 3DS XL. Good idea or not? Any of you guys planning on going to target?

If you already own a 3DS and don't need to upgrade, why would you buy the Pikachu XL?

It's not going to appreciate in value if you open it and use it, your $150 is likely better spent elsewhere.

I really, really wish the XL came in more colors than half-red, half-blue and the fugly yellow/white Pikachu design. I'd buy one if they just made them in a solid color, I hate that the shell is a different color for no apparent reason. It's just ugly.

Back when I was buying a DS Lite I wanted a pink one and settled for a Red/Black one when pink was sold out. Regretted it for years. I'm honestly probably hopping on this Pikachu XL, but one day I'm getting me a glorious pink handheld.

Does the 3DSXL have any noticeable advantages over the original other than larger screens and storage? Because I have pic related and other than the bottom screen scratching the top screen, I have no complaints. This thing is so fucking beautiful...

You're right about that being absolutely beautiful, though. Not a day goes by that I don't wish I wasn't such a poorfag back then so I could've gotten one.

Which is also why I'm so determined to get one of these Pikachu ones. Never again do I want to feel the pain I feel not getting the Zelda 3DS.

Buying a 3DS in general has been the most unnerving experience for me. I knew not to buy one at launch. That's a rookie mistake, but I've been waiting for something like this Pikachu 3DS XL to justify buying one, but I'm not terribly fond of the design itself, and the only reason I see myself getting it is the 50 bucks off. I'd much rather have one of pic related but I have no idea if they'll ever come out here or not or the Charizard XL that'll never be released here or even better the 3DS slim design that'll be inevitably unveiled at E3 in a couple months and probably release before X and Y comes out. No matter how I play this I'm going to be left with regrets.

To the best of my knowledge, the 3DS Slim was just a rumor that was floating around last year for something that serve as a new-and-improved version of the 3DS, like the DS Lite in relation to the original DS. That was pretty much shot down when they revealed the 3DS XL.

The thing is that I hardly played any of those in the original GBA, and yeah, I can emulate them, but playing them on the 3DS was the closest thing I could get to the original experience.

Somebody pointed out that the price difference between a regular 3DS and an XL is normally 50 bucks, so if you can get 100 dollars for your 3DS then ya can do that and grab an XL for the price difference you'd lose choosing it over the original normally if you didn't own either, but only if you take advantage of the 50 bucks off at Toys R' Us at Pikachu launch.

Either way you're trading your 3DS up for a system that costs exactly 50 bucks more, and you're using OP's prices which is Target. I was referring to the Toys R' Us sale which is 10 dollars cheaper. That's the basic premise though.
