In all honesty, more developments on character relationships, (not specifically romantic) would improve pokemon a whole lot for me.

The fact that these characters never learn from their mistakes and go seasons without learning anything socially or growing up as characters bothers me tremendously.

I thought it was weird how in the last Diamond and Pearl episode Buneary didn't seem to give a shit that she'd be leaving Pikachu, but it was Piplup who started bawling and throwing a tantrum about it.
